Alpha Academy is our Signature Leadership and College Readiness program, which educates, empowers, and exposes young men of color, grades 9 through 12 from schools in Brooklyn to the skills, tools, behaviors, and role models necessary for success in life, leadership, and college.
The goal is to develop emotionally intelligent leaders by focusing on three levels of development: the individual, the individual in relation to others, and the individual in relation to society as a whole. Particular emphasis will be placed on Academic Excellence, Goal Setting, Personal Development, Professional Development, Etiquette, and Health and Wellbeing.
Alpha Academy will discuss the College Admissions process, tips for a strong application and how to utilize valuable resources when making the transition from high school to college.
The program will run from October 2024 through June 2025, meeting in person one Saturdays every month from 10:00 am–1:00 pm, and periodic virtual sessions (date & time TBD). There will also be occasional recreational activities and field trips. Permission forms will be provided.
